Stability of pinned-rotationally restrained arches

The article aims to find the buckling loads for pinned?rotationally restrained shallow circular arches in terms of rotational end stiffness, geometry and material distribution. loading is a concentrated vertical force placed at crown. A geometrically nonlinear model presented which relates not only axial but also bending moment membrane strain. load-strain relationship established between strain load parameters. This equation then solved evaluated analytically. It turns out that stiffness end-restraint has, general, significant effect on lowest load. At same time, some geometries are affected by this. As becomes zero, arch pinned-pinned as tends infinity, behaves if it were pinned-fixed has best load-bearing abilities.
